Find your next outdoor adventure! Get Outdoors Kansas (GOK) is the latest implementation of OMF's platform for the recreational and outdoor activity sector. Get Outdoors Kansas leverages and extends functionality originally built for Get Outdoors Colorado. GOK is an information hub for everything someone would need to take advantage the outdoors environment in the Sunflower State.

Users can search for activities through the front page, and choose to filter the results by category, age level, cost and location. The website allows partners to easily upload their events and activities directly to the website. Partners can also apply to have their RSS feed added to the site, making their events automatically populate. GOK also funded an expanded trail mapping system to build a growing database of the trails in Kansas. Land managers and other partners easily contribute to this database, documenting trails and trailheads for Kansas' outdoor adventurers.

With a plethora of events and activities happening in Kansas at any given time, the GOK website is easy to edit and maintain for the GOK staff and partners. By leveraging open source tools and functionality built for a specific sector, OMF provided GOK with cost and time efficiencies that could be applied to develop the trail database and ensure that the Kansas outdoor enthusiasts don’t miss out on their next adventure.
